Energetic Balancing For A Healthier Mind, Body, And Soul

What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is an eastern modality that was first practiced in Japan in 1922, as a stress reduction treatment. It is a gentle, non-invasive intervention that is used complementary to, and can be used safely with, all medication and all medical diagnoses. It is practiced through the use of channeling universal energy in order to promote healing of an individual's physical body and emotional well being. This holistic modality provides a wide variety of beneficial outcomes, which can include whole body relaxation, improved sleep, calmness, pain reduction, and relief from both physical ailments and difficult emotional situations

How Does Reiki Work?

The energy of Reiki works directly on our body's Autonomic Nervous System, which contains both our Sympathetic and Parasympathetic Nervous Systems. Our sympathetic nervous system is our body's system responsible for our fight-or-flight responses, or "survival/protection mode." As an individual receives Reiki, the energy helps to shift the body out of it's "protection mode" and into a "rest and digest" mode, or parasympathetic nervous system. The parasympathetic nervous system is what allows our body to rest, digest, process, and learn. A body in the parasympathetic nervous system can easily regenerate cells for healing/body restoration, filter out extraneous environmental stimuli, and retain both familiar and novel learning processes.
